Who gives this warranty

The benefits this warranty gives you are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the goods.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Five-year transferable frame warranty

The canopy frame carries a five-year warranty against manufacturing defects, and it transfers to the next owner with the vehicle. That is deliberate: it is worth something at resale.

Components such as seals, locks, gullwing struts and electrical parts carry a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

To claim, the defect must appear within those periods, counted from the day the canopy or part is delivered to you.

What is covered, and what is not

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of the product itself. It does not cover damage from an accident, from a load beyond the rated capacity, from a modification, or from a canopy removed and refitted by someone other than Bushtech or an authorised centre.

A fit done by anyone other than Bushtech or an authorised Bushtech fitment centre is at that fitter's risk. Damage through fitment error is not a product defect and is not covered.

Glass, and wear from normal use, are not covered. Read the load ratings before you load the roof: the vehicle manufacturer’s own roof rating is almost always lower than the canopy’s, and it is the one that governs.

Making a claim

Contact us with the serial number (inside the canopy), photographs and a description of the fault, or raise it from your account. You can also write to Bushtech Pty Ltd, 232 Unley Road, Unley SA 5061. That address takes mail only, so please do not send goods there; if an item has to be seen, we tell you where it goes. We answer with what happens next.

Removal, refitting and freight for a claim are your cost unless the claim is upheld, in which case we carry them and refund what you have paid against your receipts. A claim is assessed on the canopy, so it may need to be seen.

Servicing

A complimentary annual service is included for five years. Seals bed in, gullwings settle and locks need adjusting; the service is where that is done.

Servicing is done through Bushtech directly, until a centre is appointed in Australia, subject to available slots. Contact Bushtech to confirm a date before travelling; a service is not booked until it is confirmed to you.
